Another World Memory FreeBASIC

Another World Memory is a classic memory game with graphics from Another World (a.k.a. Out Of This World) by Eric Chahi (under Delphine Software label), one of the best games ever made.

The FreeBASIC port of the original QBasic game introduces DIGITAL SOUND EFFECTS (including speech message like "BLUE WINS!" and similar), solo challenge best times tables, extra background in options and about screen, blue font brighten up (the old version really hurts the eyes) and few more nitpicks. This version is recommended.

Author's note (Dec. 2006):
Of all the games I made, Another World Memory belongs to my most favorite ones. Or better yet, it's one of those I'm least annoyed with. Sadly, it wasn't received well in all the places where I advertised it. But I really can't blame the people since the game's graphics are ripped and this is a mere memory game. Still, I think that this game functions very well as a memory game, and I personally haven't seen a better computer memory game. As for the FreeBASIC version, I regret the fact I missed to implement screen transition effects on various places in the game, and the game could use them. Oh well. We learn from mistakes. Anyway, that's pretty much the only complaint I have on the design.
